If kids would like to use Google Earth at home, it is a free program accessible here: http://earth.google.com/intl/en/ It will have to be downloaded to your computer, and then kids can use it from home the same way as they do at school. “Fly to” should be clicked in the top left corner, not Directions. I can’t get over how popular this game is. Kids have been asking for it all year. I am going to try and tie our Google Earth exploration to the next thing, and bring this game out for the end of December. Parents–if your kids are asking for it, I found a new version online [...]

First and second grade spent the last 2 weeks working in Trudy’s Time and Place. This is a program from Edmark and it is part of the “House” series.
