We made some folders and organized our files. Here is a video on how to make a folder on the desktop or in the Explorer window. The second video is slower and more in depth. Don’t forget to use Shift-Click to highlight a whole bunch of things, or Ctrl-Click if the icons are not next to each other!
We made some folders in Outlook.
We quickly made a presentation, by harvesting files from another PowerPoint presentation.

We pick out our Microsoft projects that we will work on. These should be complete for class 12. We started an Excel file for use with Labels (an address list.) We organized our bookmarks in IE9, or Firefox. Then we learned about Social Bookmarking and its advantages. We signed up for Delicious.com (optional). The other major site: Diigo –we just looked at. We discussed how far we have come since the first class. We talked about how much we had covered. We then watched this video about what the next wave of computers will probably look like: Ted video

We began the sixth class by discussing how far we have come since the first class. We talked about how much we had covered. We then watched this video about what the next wave of computers will probably look like: Ted video Then we started working on Productivity tools like an Excel file that you can use to plan a Field Trip or Vacation. The assignment was then to finish organizing bookmarks and to start a Delicious account at home, and have it upload the bookmarks. Everyone received these Youtube links to learn about Delicious at home: Creating a Delicious Account (When she says don’t upload your bookmarks, you can go ahead and upload because we already organized.) Adding Bookmarks to Delicious How to use Tags A review of the Basics of Delicious We also played with a terrific tool for Math teachers, or Elementary teachers who may want to make their own math worksheets, quizzes or tests. It is called Dynamic Paper and it is found here. We broke down the directions for getting the images of number lines or shapes. Using the Dynamic Paper tool.
